Science Class: Blood Cells

After we learned about the four chambers of the heart and the route of the blood cells, we went outside and joined the lower graders to make a model of the heart and cells. The older kids made the four chambers and the lower graders were the blood cells. The “blood cells” started out as dirty cells and went through two chambers, then became clean oxygen cells. After becoming oxygen cells, the blood cells went through the remaining two chambers and gave their oxygen to the muscles. We repeated this process a few more times, and then we went back inside. This model of the heart was a fun way to learn about a very important part of our body.
